I am dating a man 6 years older than me and we are engaging in sexual intercorse. We are active together and have been since the first night. (is that bad?) I know he has had a few serious relationships before in which he was really hurt! Apparantly he feels that he cannot love very many people. He is an amazing guy, and things are great, he just doesn't say he loves me, is that bad? Maybe he wants to make sure the love is real, I know I really love him.
I know he cares, but I am too afraid to say it first. what should I do? We have been together for 3 1/2 months, is it just too soon?
I often assume part of it is just because he issuch a serious guy, should I tell him I love him?
I guess its like they say, love is under used and overrated!

Why should he say he loves you? He's getting sex after a matter of hours with a person he hardly even knows. He's not an amazing guy, he's a user who doesn't love you and is using his "hurt in the past" thing as an excuse to 1-keep doing you and 2-not offer you any commitment. :
Love isn't over-rated-- HE is.

If you love him, say it.

I met a guy online and we talked for about 3 months before I started saying "I love you", though he had said it before. When we met in person for a week (about a month and a half later), I said "I love you" for the first time on the third day he was there. Turned out he was scared to say it first, because he didn't want me to feel trapped.

If you tell him, he'll know, and he can respond. Some people just need the push, so that they know they are loved; and it's very natural to want to hear that special someone say they love you. Maybe it's just your turn to go first.
