First, check out this FAQ from the US Citizenship and Immigration services: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=856b39502731e010VgnVCM1000000ecd190aRCRD&vgnextchannel=91919c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD

The employer has to submit Form I-129 along with a fee for processing AND a $1000 sponsoring fee. If that's approved, then the worker needs to file for an H-1B VISA.

The H-1B is a nonimmigrant classification used by an alien who will be employed temporarily in a specialty occupation or as a fashion model of distinguished merit and ability.
HOWEVER: Even though the job is "temporary", you can also plan on staying. An H-1B alien can be the beneficiary of an immigrant visa petition, apply for adjustment of status, or take other steps toward Lawful Permanent Resident status without affecting H-1B status. This is known as "dual intent" and has been recognized in the immigration law since passage of the Immigration Act of 1990. During the time that the application for LPR status is pending, an alien may travel on his or her H-1B visa rather than obtaining advance parole or requesting other advance permission from Immigration to return to the U.S.

Getting to America is your job and since a company is sponsoring you it will be their cup of soup also. Since you will be working to bring justice to many folks, it shouldn,t be too hard to get travel visa's.Since you live in the United Kingdom I think you should be travelling shortly with the help of immigration offices. Good luck and God speed.
