It means that your life will go on forever - even when you leave this Earth - the question is, where will you spend forever.

Eternal life is the vision of God in heaven - which is theologically known as the "Beatific Vision"
It will fulfill all of the desires of man.
Each thing that attracts us on earth, does so because it is some reflection of the goodness and beauty of God (He is pure spirit, seen only with the intellect in heaven, and is not a bodily form seen with the eyes. He is the essence of infinite goodness, truth, and beauty, that brings infinite pleasure, joy, and happiness to those who posses Him).
This life has been created as a journey to that vision, as we must demonstrate that we love God more than ourselves to make it.
Because of free-will, there is the possibility for each of us that we might not make it and will end up in hell (no, there is no once saved always saved principle. We always have to be vigilant in this life).
Our life is one of high drama, because infinite alternatives lie before us - infinite good or infinite evil, eternal life or eternal death, absolute freedom or absolute slavery - eternal salvation or eternal damnation.

Eternal life means that you will always have a chance to demonstrate life in body form....REINCARNATION. Once you have finished this life here you will have a chance to correct your wrongs or collect your debts( not monetary). That is the reason so many suffer and many truly enjoy the present life. How you treat your fellow brother is how you will be treated in another existence. You mock those with handicaps , disabilities you will then know what it is like to be in their shoes. You treat others with arrogance and superiority you will then in another life time feel what it was like to feel inferior. You treat others with love and kindness you will reap that type of lifestyle and so on.
Each lifetime we polish the diamond in the rough so our spirit shines through and we can demonstrate our love for our brothers. Peace and love be with you.

Eternal life means Living in peace with God in heaven. Accepting His free gift of Mercy and Grace. Loving Him as much as He loves you 9Even though that is impossible) ; )
