Mav need the appropraite prayer to pray over her fish sticks.

Now Mav have another question. Friday is supposed to be no meat for some Christians, but they can have fish - is that 'cuz Peter was a fisherman?

Actually it's because in the early days of the church people were not getting enough protein in their diets so the church told them to eat fish once a week (it was the cheapest and easiest to obtain in that area at that time). The Pope then made it a decree.

I think that it is mostly Catholics that eat fish on Fridays...but I have never heard that it was because Peter was a fisherman...I will be anxious to hear the real reason!

And the prayer? How about just, "Dear God, I sincerely thank You for my fish sticks...please bless them to the use of my body and me to Your service, In Jesus' name, Amen."

Do you need to pray FOR the fish sticks? lol

I don't know the cause of it - I always assumed it's just a catholic thing. Which, thank them very much (not), means that it's hard to find anything but bloody fish fries on Fridays.

No, because Friday was Peter's day to fry fish.

"God bless the food and the cook." Amen

I don't know of this rule for "some" Christians. Where in the Holy Bible does this "rule" show itself?

Curious...
