I have a secure job willing to sponsor me in America and i currently live in the u.k. Is it true that if i went to America on the Visa waiver program, and applied for a green card in America i can live and work in America whilst the green card is being processed? Please answer as best to your knowledge as possible. Thanks in advanced

Under the VWP, you can enter and while you are here you can have someone file an application on your behalf. While you're in the U.S., you'll file an I-485 adjustment of status application. You are considered to be in status while your I-485 is being decided. Along with the I-485, you can file an I-765 request for work authorization. The work authorization will be approved for a maximum of one year.

If your underlying application (employer sponsorship, e.g.) is denied, the I-485 will be denied and you'll have to leave ASAP.

I don't even think you need a green card these days. Just walk right in. Enter through our southern border.

No you can not do that. Your green card has to be completely done or you`ll be caught by the police.

no, you can not come to America. Until your Green Card arrives then yes you can come. I hope it does not take too long for it to arrive.
