I keep telling my brother that a child that is 8, 9, and 10 is too young to be considered gay or to be always thinking about sex.
My brother keeps saying that the little fat kid in Nacho Libre is gay. He says it is easy to notice because of the way he acts, and his mannerisms and speech.
I think he crazy. I think the kid is cute and very boyish.

just because he may show his feminine side does not make him gay. i know a man raised by his grandmother who showed both sides and he was all man. don't never label your boy gay or guesstimate. you tell someone or somebody that long enough you can make them that way. make sure he mingles with both sexes. if, by chance down the road he is would that make you love him any less?? i hope not Kat

I believe that a lot of gay people have said that they first realized it at just about this pre-pubescent stage. Kids in this age are just learning about sex, and even little boys are possibly getting hair - there is school talk about bf's and gf's and all that kiddie stuff. So, it's not unfathomable that some kid this age could think he/she was gay. However, I think with children, it's about what they observe and see other adults doing as acceptable, so who knows...it's just my opinion.

At that age kids dont even really get the difference between a girl & boy except that one has a "thingy" & one doesnt. I have a niece & nephew these ages.... both are VERY SMART kids.

Your hormones haven't even kicked in yet so the only you know about "sex" is what you hear and/or see on tv.

I would say dont worry about it.... chances are the boy is just
a mammas boy & a bit sensitive...........doesn't make him gay.

My cousin started acting very feminine when he was about 2 or 3. We all picked up on it, some of us think it's funny and cute, and some (like his dad) are horrified and very intolerant of his mannerisms. I guess the behavior in question can begin at any age.

I agree with you. As with heterosexuals, I think around 11 is when you'd start taking notice unless something has taken place to rob the child of innocence OR the child imitates or emulates adults in a poor attempt at humor.

PUBERTY ( around 13) is a very good time to notice these UNUSUAL happenings. The signs to look at are the clothes he/she may be wearing( are they girlie? Boyish?) the voice. (Is he/she talking differently than other teens their age???) Who he/she is "hanging around with" is another sign. Appetite is a BIGGIE! ( do they eat as much as the same sex? the same teens their age?)
I hope this helped! Any more advice? e-mail me at ask_alli94@yahoo.com ! IF ANY ONE ELSE NEEDS ADVICE.... YOUR WELCOME TO!

That does seem a little young to start piling on the stereotypes and labels.

Gee...You mean he did see the big "G" on the guys forhead and you missed it? what's wrong with him anyway. There's no such thing as knowing who is what. Maybe that's what's wrong with a lot of people nowdays, they worry what people are, instead of who they are. Tell him to get a life and stop wondering what people are, and start wondering who they are, tell him to start thinking who he is.
