House edge on the pass line BEFORE the point is established 1.41 AFTER the point is established 5.00 any number
House edge on the DONT PASS BFORE the point is established 1.42 AFTER the point is established 1.36 any number
People that tell you the edge remains the same after the point is established don't know the math of craps. Not even dealers are told this when they are trained so they can';t really give any winning advice to players. Not that their advice is wrong just incomplete.
Most of the gamblers you talk to about craps play by this incomplete knowledge .If you are interested in learning everything thewre is to know about craps visit and join the many discussion forums that feature craps where you can talk to REAL gamblers about the game.

The Pass Line has a .05% advantage over Don't Pass. What this means is you can expect to lose an extra $5 over 1000 bets. So between them, its really more about what you feel. However, some rollers find betting against them (Don't Pass) to be rude.

Pass Line has little higher % of winning advatage than Don't Pass. Plus, you can have fun with other people on the table.
In 1992 at Ballys, Vegas, My ex-girfriend (now she became my wife) had rolled the dice longer than 45 minutes and everyone on the table were very very exciting except one guy who bet on Don't Pass. It was memorable night!

actually it can be even closer than.05 in joints that allow 100x free odds,it really boils down to how is the table running and do you mind rooting for the 7 (i am the rudest DON"T PLAYER around.i cheer for the 7 and make "ANY SEVEN" bets for the shooter and holler out "PEEN CHAY SEE ET TAY!) and getting stared at when you win and 16 other people lose and BLAME YOU! and yes i have gotten into fights and been asked to leave ALOT of casinos-lol
