uh oh, someone else is catching on! lol same thing i asked. if hell is physical place, then had technology allow we should be able to travel there. be it spiritual place then how can we feel pain and torture if its a physical pain thats being described? im glad im not the only one whos thought about this, "how can hell burn you?" question...
upon reading some answers, i now have to ask, if we get our bodies back at apocolypse and that is how we burn, then what about people who died hundreds of years ago? are they waiting to get bodies back so they can be burned? and if they are then you are lying when u say u will be burned for all eternity,

First - the soul is not energy or electricity or any other material thing.
The soul in hell experiences the worst emotional and psychological suffering imaginable. Each person's reason for being created is to spend eternity with God. Souls in hell realize this and that it is their own fault that they won't.
After the resurrection every soul will be reunited with it's body. Those in hell will feel excruciating suffering beyond anything we can imagine. The closest metaphor we can use to describe it is fire.

Souls do not feel physical pain, as they don't have physical bodies. Their physical body will not go with them anywhere, rather they will possess a "light" body. There is no "heated hell". A soul can suffer mental anguish, which is often worse than physical pain.
This is not a Christian perspective.

Its a poor shame which you will desire to come again to this internet site and convey your stupidity the variety you do. I even have study quite a few of your questions or perhaps replied some, however the propose you get looks to no longer get into that thick head of yours. i will as quickly as back attempt to describe to you something appropriate to the suited judgment and whats to take place at that factor. i'd in spite of the undeniable fact that recommend which you initiate off examining the Scriptures very quickly to get rid of the countless stupidity with rather info with the information that comes from the word of God. on the 2d your flesh physique dies, your spirit is going at cutting-edge back to the father who gave it initially. you would be in Heaven, (Paradise) the place there are 2 sides. This place in Heaven is a waiting section called the Gulf. in case you have conventional the Lord Jesus Christ and repented of all your sins, and walked that at cutting-edge path that Jesus confirmed us then you definately would be on the component the place Abraham is. If in spite of the undeniable fact that, you probably did no longer do as Our author the Heavenly Father stated, accepting His Son Jesus Christ, then you definately would be on the different edge of the Gulf the place each and every of the sinners are. Now we could quickly forward to the 2d creation of Jesus Christ and now its the Millennium, 1000 years have now long previous by utilising. Its now time for the White Throne Judgment. all human beings is of their religious bodies as we communicate. The Books are opened. everyone who's call isn't found in the Lamb's e book of existence is permitted to stick to devil into the Lake of fire. that's the place your soul, spirit are fed on into nothingness. this is the top for everyone no longer accepting Jesus Christ. I do wish which you will pass to the word of God and learn for your self to coach your self authorized.><>

At the resurrection all will be reunited with their bodies just as Christ was. So that's how the hurt of hell makes sense.

The idea of a soul is fiction. There is nothing in life which exists outside of the corporeal body.

The heat of hell is just in ours minds. No material hell place. Our soul is our mind, our conscience of good and bad thinks we did in our lives.

I dont think it makes sense either. If the Christians are right about our bodies being resurrected then we better make sure we are cremated! ;)

this is always my arguement against the literal hell ..
we would have to be physical beings made from physical elements to burn in the first place ... let alone be able to feel it
