No. There really are quite a few genuine pagans and Wiccans in the real world and here on Y.A. Basically what you're asking is if this is a "phase" they're going through? Like - it's cool to be pagan or wiccan? I see an awful lot of Christians here on Y.A., too. Do you think maybe that's like, "Ooooh, look at me, I'm a Christian!" Or maybe with atheists.... Hmmmmm. We could try to illigitimize any religion with this theory that it's just a phase because it's different, attention getting, cool, or whatever.
Not going to work.
I've been a pagan for over 20 years now. I think I've gotten over the "Look how cool I am" phase of life. I don't practice my religion for shock value and my guess is 99.9% of my pagan brethren don't practice their religions for shock value either.

What has being a Gypsy got to do with being a Wiccan, and vice versa? And, what has Stevie Nicks got to do with either??? She isn't a Wiccan as far as I know...
If you want to know more about Wicca, Google or Yahoo it.

Some are like that... but for the most part, it isn't. Most of us take it more seriously than what you see on TV. It's a lot like the way some people take Christians to be all like Pat Robertson or Ted Haggard, yet many down-to-earth Christians I have met can't stand either one of these people and would rather not be linked to them.
Thanx to Eyelove *wink* Not often I see someone outside of Paganism actually stand up for any of us.

I sure hope not! I am both a Gypsy and a Wiccan. And I do not like Stevie Nicks! I seriously doubt she knows much about either! I feel like for her it is nothing more than a cutesy attention getter.

There's a lot of good info about pagans out there on the web.
Plus, all you need do is ask one of us and we'll gladly discuss our beliefs with you.
Basically paganism is a nature oriented religion that reaches back to the faiths that pre-date monotheism. There are as many different pagan paths as there are sects and denominations of Christianity, if not more.

There are a lot more pagans and wiccans around you in real life than you realize.
They just don't go shouting it from the rooftops like some others.

Can't really answer that. All that is too scary for me and I don't mess around with it.
