I don't think there's a single word for it, because there are any number of reasons why the person could want that, and what it's called depends on that reason. A few possibilities...
Faking sick or hoping to be sick to get out of doing something (like going to school or work) is called malingering.
There's a mental illness called Munchausen's syndrome, in which the patient will make herself sick or injured to get attention from doctors. A person with Munchausen's may also hope that they really will get seriously sick or injured as that would get them the attention they want. Even if they don't make themselves sick on purpose but hope they'll get sick so they get attention, that could also be considered a symptom of Munchausen's.
If they're hoping to be sick/injured because they actually enjoy physical pain, that's masochism.
If they want it to be serious because they want to die, that would be suicidal behavior. Even if they don't want to die, but just want to kind of self destruct or implode, that could be a sign of depression.
I can't think of any more reasons of the top of my head, but if you can think of any more I could probably come up with diagnoses to go with them :)

If the person is attention seeking, it could be related many mental disorders. One is called munchausens syndrome. That is where people actually make themselves get sick or break bones for the attention they recieve. Some will use their children even....... If it is not that severe........ it can be a number of things like Borderline Personality Disorder.........

a hypochondriac does not fear they are sick they think they are sick. they also feel the pain of the illness, just like the real illness, and crave me dictations, for their pain . they suffer just as much as the real illness. i do not know of a word for this, but can tell you if that is the way you feel, it sounds like a deep psychological problem that needs to be addressed as, thinking like that can have grave consequence in your life. if it had a name, it might be called depression
