As a Christian, I don't think so. Because the doll wouldn't give Jesus justice. Jesus isn't confined to an image, the same as God isn't. The Lord God said to not make images and bow down to them. So if a child takes the Jesus doll as an Idol. Mom is going to get in trouble from God.

I don't think it is appropriate, I have children and would not buy them one and I'm Christian. I would consider it mocking the Lord, or having false idols. Jesus I believe is my Savior and I teach my kids so. He is not to be a toy, for play. I would not see the significance in allowing my kids to have a Jesus doll, they need not carry a toy to prove they are a follower. They need not have a toy for themselves to remember Jesus they carry Jesus in their hearts.

I have seen Jesus action figures recently. I don't know if that's what you're talking about...but yeah, I don't think it's very appropriate. If you wanted to get them a Jesus statue for a decoration that's one thing, but a doll is something that gets thrown around, left on the floor, left out in the mud, eaten by the dog, etc. Don't think that's very respectful.

I think it depends on how the kid plays with his toys. If you know the kid to trash her toys and leave them out in the rain, then I'd say it's disrespectful to Jesus to give the kid such a toy.
If she respects her toys and puts them away when she's done playing with them, then it's a sweet thing for Jesus to have a mini image of himself having tea time with Raggedy-Ann and Stuffed Panda.

Those who are complaining about false idols, do you have a cross?

That is such a great question that I have been wondering about too!!
I almost brought one once but then I thought it may be disrespectful to Jesus. I am not sure, but maybe someone out here knows!
God Bless!

It depends on WHY it is being given. For instance, if it is being given as a source of comfort and inspiration to a child who will treat it with respect, I see no harm in giving a child one. I believe that a child needs a starting ground to develope his/her faith. If it is to be given as just another toy to play with, I think that is disrespectful to Jesus. After all, HE gave the ultimate sacrifice for us which should be the focal point surrounding ANY gift concerning Him. quizkid

I'm Christian. Don't think it's appropriate. And I doubt very much my kids would play with it.
