Scientists have recently created 'sperm' from fertilized embryos of mice. Assuming this is possible with humans and might eventually be developed in such a way, should we consider 'relieving' men of the role they presently play? That is, not necessarily remove men from society, but make sex a purely recreational act.

Oh come on! You know I don't mean impregnanting women with mice sperm, lol. In theory they would just use sperm developed from the women themselves.

no. Men should be able to be the actual father of their children. It might seem as though the sexual act is all the father contributes to the birth, but it means a lot to men to know that the child is of their own DNA, and they are related through blood. It is more than just sperm and fertilization for a lot of men. There is a connection, almost as strong of a connection that a mother has for their child.

Oh Dear , NO !! , Thinking about being fertilized is what gave me such a love of intimate relations. I think it would Ruin my drive (My Personal tveiw). If I had no chance of breeding w/ my mate it just wouldn't be worth doing anymore.

It would be like taking the rides out of a carnival.

Or

The flavor out of soda pop.

No no , I would never like it.

what? my guy and i like know that the babies we have (2 and one on the way) are both of ours genetically, physically and emotionally. i think we're going to far with the whole playing god game. so what do you recommend to make sex purely recreational? all men get vasectomies? cuz personally, my guy and i hate rubbers, after this baby, we're doing other methods (one of us getting fixed, or maybe me getting an iud) of birth control. i think.... i don't know what to think. i for once have no real answer. just my opinion of "no we should not"

No! I love men!
Sex is supposed to be both
pro-creational and
recreational.
It's a matter of choice and always should be.

Jehovah God gave grownup adult adult males and girls the flexibility to make infants. needless to say you come to a determination on a mans sperm and a womans womb to make a toddler so as that they have made that toddler, without Jehovah God regardless of the undeniable fact that there does no longer be any human beings or the flexibility to make human beings, so thank you can desire to bypass to him.

No, I think the whole point in having sex is to have that special moment with your spouse and conceive with the person you love.
