I received a Hepatitus vaccine 6 weeks ago and never went back for the 2nd. Will anything happen if I do not continue? or will it just be like I never had it?

I am an MD. Nothing bad will happen to you, other than the lack of immunity to the hepatitis virus. The literature states that after the first injection, ~40% will achieve immunity, after the second, ~70%, after the third, ~92%, and after the fourth, ~96%. The recommended series is three doses, and then check bloodwork for antibodies. If you don't go through with the series, you still will have a 40% chance of being immune. You can resume the series at any time and these figures will still be valid, I believe.

I did the same thing. The only ill effect I had was having to restart the series, although you should probably give your doctor a call and make sure there won't be any potential issues.

Its ok if you are late on the shot, all you have to do is go to the doctor and get the second shot, you do not have to start all over, I to was late on my shot and my doctor told me it was ok nothing would happen to me

go back and get it. you won't be protected from the disease if you don't. you only are late by two weeks. it's better to have it than not, especially if you are in a job or situation that warrants it.
