Science Diet and IAMS aren't quality foods. They are just high priced foods loaded with cheap fillers and by products.

Quality foods have no corn, wheat, soy, beet pulp or by products in them and they have meat as at least the first 2 ingredients.

Dogs are meat eaters not grain eaters. They are designed to extract the bulk of their nutrition from meat proteins not grains.

All three are junkfood and therefore crap. Try a quality food like Artemis or Chicken Soup. Anything you can buy at the grocery store or Petco is going to be mostly filler with little protein.

Google "quality dog kibble" and read in amazement. Don't be fooled by thinking the stuff at the vet's office is any better either. That's just a huge marketing scheme.

Read the ingredients carefully, you should never read the words "biproduct" or "meat." If it says "meat" that could be ground up euthanized dog, horse, cow, anything and the poison they used to kill the animal doesn't go away when they chop it up and you feed it back to your dog.

Try Artemis... it's a great food my dogs adore it. My trainer recommended it by name.

It's ok but I prefer Purina Pro Plan. We have several dogs. Over the years I've tried Iams, Eukanuba, Science Diet, Nutro, Authority, Royal Canine and out of all the Pro Plan has given them, energy, shiny coats, white teeth & healty gums.

Our vet says yes ti is the same.
Always check the ingredients.
They are listed in order of amount in the food. First item is the majority of the food.
Also look at a good petstore like Petsmart, they put the dog food in order of quality. Or I think they do. The cheap stuff is always together and the better and best is always with there like kind.

I think it is... we have 3 dogs total. One is on Iams Puppy, one is on Iams Weight Control, and one is on Purina One Sensitive Systems. Our vet recommended Purina for her because she has severe allergies and it's the only food she can eat without being miserable until her shots build up enough to work.

I'm sure all dog food has some type of fillers in them. Human food does too. Purina is a good food for your dog. You don't need to spend 50 bucks for a 20 pound bag of food for it to be nutritious. Before all this super expensive stuff came out we all had Purina, Alpo, Pedigree etc. for our dogs. I personally find Pedigree really good for my dog. The vet says she is perfectly healthy every time we see her. So if you want to use Purina, use it!

NO! and neither is Iams. I know this sounds kinda funny, but the best most affordable dog/cat food out there is from CostCo. The Kirkland brand Super Premium .

we use it with my oldest dog and she loves it we have her on Purina One Lamb and Rice Formula and she enjoys it. I would reccomend it because we rescued my dog and after we started her on it she became very well nourished and maintains her weight very easily. in relation to other foods, it is probably just preferenc which one you prefer for your dog

Good luck and good eating!

Dane lover has it right.

All of these are filled with cheap fillers. Do some reading and then go and study labels.

its good for your dog, it may have cheaper ingredients, hills does feeding trials with afco to ensure it is complete, but most other pet foods will still meet the standards.
