I started to like this guy. My friend has more classes with him so she talks to him more than I do. I am a little shy so I don't talk to him as much, but I really think it could work between him and me. My problem is that after I started to like him, she started to get a crush on him too. We are going to talk about it, but I wondered if anyone had any suggestions because we aren't going to fight over it. She feels badly because I liked him first and I feel badly because she has more classes with him and she spends more time with him. I sort of feel she knows him better but I want a chance to get to know him. I am just shy and it takes me a little longer.

both of you just need to completely forget about him. NEVER LET A GUY GET IN THE WAY OF YOU AND YOUR BEST FRIEND!!! it will/would be hard to do that, but you must. unless she is willing to just look and not touch, both of you need to forget about him. what you should do [instead of] is just go up and talk to him. if you cant have him, he might have some hot friends or brothers or something.

You are most definitely on the right path first of all by letting your girl friend go first you can get first hand info on the good and bad with the guy w/o ever committing . If you are meant to be, it will happen, relax. Don't bash your girl friend, Hold tight bonds among yourself, at the end when all is said and done
you will know this boy, and not by personal experience. Continue to be shy for one that's you, 2. it protects you, you are not spontaneous. always be yourself, it's easier latter and That's not the end of the world. There are nice boys, active and intelligent boy's that are shy.

Personally I think if you liked him first then she should back off but this based on personal experience so I'm probably just remembering the irritation I felt when my 'friend' did the same thing to me. If you and her are really good friends, then it's probably best to just the whole matter drop unless he expresses an interest in either you or her. Ultimately he's the one who will decide for you.
