Take it out on a punching bag or go for a long run.

Both of these remedies for anger have done wonders for me and they will for you 2 if you do them every day, or at least when you are the most angry.

If you have these much needed physical outlets for your anger that don't involve hurting other people or yourself, you will soon find yourself in control of your anger, and your anger will no longer be in control of you.

P.S. - buy one of the heavier punching bags, and use it for the times you are most angry and need the quickest release activity for it.

You may have bipolar. Ask people that know you if you have high's and lows. You will probably not be aware of the highs. I have bipolar and I only recently got diagnosed. Prior to that I just thought I had a very nasty temper. I couldn't control it and everyone thought I could and should. I had a lot of counseling too and it didn't help. I have only ever lost it with people I am close to. I have smashed things and hit my husband and I swear when I get that way. I am a Christian so this is not normal for me. Whenever I come out of an episode I feel really bad for what I have done.
I get anxious a lot and other times I have no energy and feel overwhelmed with life. I have times when I am very happy and feel like I can do anything. Those are my high times. Then I can easily slip into being very irritable and lose my temper.
There isn't really any help for it other than medication. Eat properly and have the right amount of sleep. Try to stay away from stressful situations and do not drink or take any drugs including cigarettes. Also avoid excessive sugar. Get to see a mental health specialist ASAP.
Best wishes.

I used to have a similar problem. I would get mad at other people, and go off on a tirade of destruction. My wake up call came when I tried to punch a hole in a wall. I hit the 2x4 behind the sheetrock with my pinky knuckle and broke my hand. Six hundred dollars later I realized that that kind of behavior would end up costing me alot. The basis of it all is that there are few things in this world worth getting mad enough to possibly hurt yourself over. Try to keep that in mind when you start to get angry. You could also try meditation.

take a deep breath.....look off into the distance and ask yourself if "this" is really worth "it"W
the really basic concepts that many forget when they R angry is that ,,,
-They are nor responsibile for the stupidity of others...
-They cannot educate or change people just because they believe the other is wrong
(remember...you can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink)
-EVERY individual has the capacity to dig their own hole, create /add to their own or other's problems or just be A*** for whatever reason...
Anger is something all humans experience BUT Anger is never a solution...
and stick with the counceling because one moment of anger left unchecked can ruin your life and result in a jail cell ...
good luck...
one more item.. have heard that.. pinching your self to cause pain can force your brain off the explosion ..as the brain 's need to report pain overrides most everything else...

Obviously you know when you are getting mad so it should be said you know WHOM is angering you and WHAT is angering you. Soon as you feel yourself getting angry leave the room or place or person that is angering you and think alone for awhile and ask yourself is it really worth getting mad....Is it worth losing your temper over....Sometime you will realize you are getting over emotional and that everytime another person gets you to lose it THEY control You...YOU are acting out exactly how they want you to for their own personal or selfish reasons..Just to ruin your evening, your nite out with friends..To make you look like a dink like they have told their relatives you are and you just SEAL your own fate..YOU can turn all this around by controlling YOURSELF... USE the Force Luke....

I am sure you know that temper tantrums are veryyyy unattractive and people might think you are a major loser if they see that behavior,
Sooooo , ask yourself, Is what you are getting super mad about so important that it is worth looking like a loser? Are we talking about somebody molesting a child > because I would risk looking bad myself to save a child. OR are we talking some drama queen topic like clothes or other feeble issue ?
You have to ask yourself > what gets me going ? and is it worth looking like some sociopath on crack ?
Only you know . . .

Hmmm...

find inner peace

there are always reasons why u have anger & rage

you anger at the moment could be anger you had over a period of time & at that moment that someone made you angry they feel the force of all you anger you had deep within.

my rage comes from my suppression of my feelings

so i try to do yoga or meditation

i try to breathe in and out and find that inner peace, my inner balance and get in touch with my karmic forces.

not working perfectly for me but i'm trying, hopefully someday i will succeed.

maybe it might work for u ...

I clench my hands real hard and count. Not just to 10. 10 isn't nearly long enough. Sometimes I'll get to 50 before I cool off enough to walk away!

Every time you get mad just go sit down and out on some relaxing music and just claer your mind. Here's a C.D. that help relax me. "Spirit Dreams" by Thomas Walker
Don't try to find it on the web. I already tried.
