Most people say that it's a parakeet, but I have a budgie and a parakeet. The parakeet is smaller, doesn't talk at all. The budgie talks in full paragraphs and loves to be around people. He was given to me by his former owner who couldn't care for him anymore. Maybe budgies are just friendler and smarter parakeets!

The word means "good eats" in some Australian aborigine language. I say it to my birds all the time. They are nice pets. We have two budgies and one cockatiel. They get along great and we enjoy them.
