Okay, so I get the changing of 331 to 332 to get 996, but what does heaven and earth have to do with it? Unless, wait. So it could go as if the world where 1 is 2, 5 is 5, and 8 is 7 is not heaven or earth then, the answer would be 996, but if it is, then we would not have an answer since we didn't have either one. And now I'm just digging myself into a hole...Please help

"3 * 331 = 993"
without heaven or earth" means turn the calculator upside down
993 upside down is Ɛ66 which in calculator font is EGG.

The world is a calculator. in the world of a calculator, when you press the number 1, it is made up of 2 little bars. when you press the number 5, the calculator uses five little bars to make the number five on the screen. when you press the number 8, it takes seven little bars on a calculator screen to make the number. the riddle does not want you to replace 1 with 2, or 7 with 8., its just a reference to say "use a calculator" the heaven and earth portion refer to up and down. with no heaven or earth, things can be upside down. multiply 331 by 3 and turn the calculator upside down. the answer will be 993, when turned upside down it spells EGG on a calculator. the answer to the riddle is egg.
