I broke my jaw several times. The last time was 4 yrs. ago when I had surgery. It left part of the area numb. Now this area on my face is in such a lot of pain and teeth around it are really painful too. Could this be because of my old injury?

how did you break your jaw so many times? I would say that when you had surgery a nerve was cut so hence the numbness and the pain, your teeth or jaw is not hurting it is the end of the nerve not healing. People who have a limb amputated have the same problem, the brain says it is there but the nerve says it is not. I would go to the doctor and explain and demand further surgery or compensation for a botched job.

Yes arthritis will move into areas like that.Start Ibuprofen 2 3times a day, and tyenol 2 3 times a day for one week, then see a Doctor if it does not help. To many people run to Doctors without trying on their own, That drives up insurance cost.

Could be nerve damage, adhesions or a tumor. Call the doctor

You should definitely get an x ray, that will show up most things eg abcess or broken bones.

You should call the doc that did it or maybe your dentist. It could be an abcess.
