I'd love to be able to eat all organic food as I really hate the fact that most food has so many chemicals in it that don't need to be there, its a shame that organic food is so expensive, when just a few decades ago all our food was organic. Hopefully things are taking a turn back in that direction as people are beginning to realise that the chemicals in food are harmful, the more organic food is produced and bought the cheaper it will become. I used to live in the country and grew a lot of my own fruit and veg - its a surprisingly rewarding passtime, I enjoyed it and they tasted great! Lovely and fresh.

It's kind of funny. What my mother would call a yard bird and refuse to eat is now called organic or free range.

The organic part I understand to mean no chemicals. So maybe I'd eat that, but no free range birds for me.
Yard birds are chickens that run free and eat whatever they want. I don't know if anybody has ever seen free range chickens, but they eat anything and everything.

I'd rather grow my own organic veggies.

It's healthier, tastes better, cooks better, and I buy it whenever I can. As it's quite expensive I can't afford to buy all organic, but I always get organic potatoes & onions, often other veggies, sometimes bran-flakes, eggs and milk. Oh, and Green & Black's choccie is organic, and absolutely gorgeous. I only wish all food was organic. It's how food should be, and used to be before scientists started monkeying with nature!

Because of the rise in infections that are anti-biotic resistant (from erratic dosing & what not) - I try to avoid products that have been fed anti-biotics ( many roasting chickens and layers & farmed salmon are fed anitbiotics ). I also notice weird effects when trying regular milk or KFC chicken ( I suspect the growth hormones) so I get the organic to avoid the antibiotics and growth hormones.

Too expensive. Besides, like it was already said, airborn chemicals...also they grow organic veggies in the same fields they used to use pesticides in. The pesticides from long term use are still in the dirt.

Truly organic food tastes better and has not been given drugs/chemicals to enhance growth. I buy, I like it!

I say grow your own... Organic is way overpriced. I try to get to the local farmers market, talk to them and know where my food comes from.
