What if it was the other way around? Why is it that when men is older no one complains, but if the woman is older, everyone thinks it's odd. Look at women like Demi Moore and Susan Sarandon. They're happy married although people can't get enought of talking about the age difference. I really can't see what so strange about it. So go ahead and enjoy being in love!

Providing your not say 19 and he 13 shouldn't be a problem. If your say 35 and he 29 what harm can it do as long as you are both happy, honest and caring for each other.
