Ok, so my best friend is a girl (i'm a guy) we are 15 (mature) and have known each other for 2 years. Recently she has been asking for hugs alot, almost every day, and keeps saying she loves me. She had never done either of these before. But the thing is, she has just gotten a boyfriend (16), so I dont know what is up with the hugging etc. all of a sudden, but I want to know, why might she be getting more touchy so much so quickly? If I am walking her home she puts her arm around me, and the other day I just made the flippant comment; hey, the cat's giving me a back rub, none of ye are that nice (to a group of friends) and she said "I'd give you a back rub". I find this behaviour odd since she has a bf. Also, in public, it will be the more friendly thing and then at her house or whatever, when theres only 1, or no people, she hugs me for a very long time and it seems quite intimate, she leans her whole body into me and I feel like I am just holding her more than hugging her.

maybe she is being abused by her bf and wants your to get involveed umm we are not aloud hugs at my school it is PDA public dissplay of affection

That IS odd. It could be a lot of things.
It could be that she is being abused by her boyfriend, so she is asking for help in subtle ways.
It could be that she has problems with her realtionship already, and is depserate for intamate attention.
It is also possible that she got into this relationship with this guy, hoping you would become jealous, proving that you like her.
It could also be that your peception has changed - as it does at that age - and it seems to be that way, but she hasn't changed.
It could be any of those things, just off the top of my head.

She's crushing on you.... It happens. She'll either get over it, or it'll get stronger... I'd wait it out for a bit, and see what happens... Usually, crushes are so intense, they fizzle out really quickly. Just keep being her friend and acting like everything's normal...

this is really tricky because Im a girl of the same age as you guys and i have a friend and im like that wuth him all the time but trust me i have no feelings like that for him!! Me and my boyfriend have been together since freshman year and im a junior!!!Sometimes girls are like that they are affectioonate but not always in an intimate way but it can really be that she has a crush on you so i advice that just casually ask her what she thinks of you!! Maybe she'll be honest

She may or may not have feelings for you. The fact that she has a boyfriend and is acting that way around you suggests that she needs comfort in her life that she is simply not getting from her boyfriend. She considers you her best friend, but she might have feelings for you. She also may think that if she tries to have a romantic relationship with you, it would ruin your friendship.

wow confusing.. have you met her boyfriend? maybe she made him up but it seems like she needs some attention from you. talk to her about it and ask her to stop being intimate with you while she has a bf still

Is she attractive? If so, ask her about the other guy and then see if she likes you either instead of him or in addition to him. Sounds to me like she likes you. Try to get become an item with her if she wants to.
