We're going on our honeymoon over the holidays. We're planning on traveling through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. Our schedule is wide open. My question is, where would be the best place to spend Xmas and/or New Years in that part of the world? Has anyone been there at that time and would like to make some recommendations?

i would suggest you spend christmas & new year in the philippines. they have the longest christmas season & the shopping there would be fantastic. you can go to the beaches of boracay & palawan or bohol. nice eats , accomodations at a low budget price.

I spent New Years in Bangkok and it was roudy. We had a good time; but not sure if that would be good on a honeymoon. SaiGon for Christmas would be good. Quite a few christains in Vietnam and they do celebrate Christmas. I would pick Hue Vietnam; but that is because my wife is from there, for the holidays. They have 3 very large Catholic Churches and the town itself is very old and romantic.
Cheers and have a good time.

you have have been given to learn how to permit pass, dude ! We walked removed from that one 32 years in the past, yet yet another cowardly selection made by utilising the shameless liberals. My kin left warriors at the back of in WWII, yet we stopped residing on it some years in the past. they do no longer look to be coming residing house, face it, they do no longer look to be coming residing house ! you may pass by way of existence annoying some variety this is now no longer considerable, or you may brush the slate sparkling and initiate off doing something significant inclusive of your existence. Your therapy of the word volunteer as against the draftees of the Vietnam era, is disingenuous, because of the fact while an entire unit from N.Dakota, or a motor transport unit from Ohio are givin orders to 'deliver out', i does not call that volunteering. all human beings is all hung up on the thought this conflict being is being manned by utilising all volunteers, no longer something is larger from the reality. many of the persons in Iraq and Afghanistan would have joined up initially on their very own, yet that's the place the similarity stops. those human beings, in many cases, are doing as ordered, a number of them 2 and thrice, or till their enlistment is up or they return residing house on a stretcher or in a physique bag !

yes, gerry's right!! most of the countries you mentioned are buddhist so their christmas is not that festive unlike here in the philippines, u can see a lot of chirstmas lantern displays on the streets and shopping malls, and most of the souvenir items are a bargain. aside from shopping, u can also visit one of the islands beaches and u can go scuba diving, snorkelling and island hopping.. it's summer most of the year. i hope u will consider visiting us here ;-)

enjoy!
