The word "flavors" can mean natural or artificial ,vegetable or animal.Foods that say Kosher have been cleared by a rabbi who observes the manufacturing process of the "flavoring" from raw material to finished product.Since halal is similar (no pork,no road kill,no diseased animal) I think you are safe and would observe halal and keep your conscience clear.Also,consult your imam.

if its in beer they use grain and hops. even the yeast can give a subtle aftertaste.
