There is no easier way than reading the label...period.

If you must do it another way, use an alcoholmeter...it's like a hydrometer but is calibrated for alcohol instead of water.

There is a rule of thumb for the general type of drinks:

beers,cooler - 5-7 %

wines - 10-14 %

cream alchool - 20-30 %

hard liquors for shots and mixes - 30+ %

I went to a wine tasting recently and they said that the more tingly dry feeling you get around your gums means the more alchohol content.

you didnt say what type of liquor. approximately how much does it have? if its low (below 25% ABV) you can test the specific gravity in a "stand" with the proper tester. you can get them at a brew supply shop.
