My cat likes to meow between the hours of 3-6 am. She has only started this in the past 2 months or so. She is fixed. I give her 1/2 of her daily food at night just before I go to bed and she gobbles it almost immediately so she has nothing to go for the rest of the day. Sometimes she meows and has food still. I don't know what is wrong with her. My family is getting very frusterated by her and most of them want to get rid of her because she interupts sleep. Any suggestions

try using a feeder for her once she gets used to having food whenever she wants it she will nibble all throughout the entire day in little bits at a time cats are known to be "snackers" and everyone will be happier

Are you playing with your cat a lot? It may not be a food issue, but rather, your cat just wants to play and no one to play with. Both kittens play with each other so much during the day, they sleep through the night, despite being nocturnal animals. =)

Maybe your cat just needs you to tire her out before you go to bed. Play with her for 20 or 30 minutes. Does she get enough activity during the day or is she playing? If she's sleeping, then she's definitely ready to have some fun at night!

Or you could get a playmate for your cat. That takes some of the stress of having YOU be her only entertainment and also gives your cat a fun playmate, especially if there's no one around during the day to play with the cat letting her sleep all day.

I have a cat that is very needy she likes to Meow to get attention. Most cats will use this to tell you something. I would leave a light on some where near her litter box or something that she might need. when you go to make her quietly talk to her. asses why she is talking to you and tell her you need to sleep. can she sleep with you? you should try and calm her down with something. I never feed my cats, THEY just always have their food out. always! Animals cant tell you when they are hungry, I think its important to always have food out, make sure its proportioned right but as soon as its gone put more in their bowl .
and give treats. lots of attention. don't give her away unless if all the things I mentioned you are not willing to do.

my cat does the same. maybe u should try 2 give her more attention during the day.

u can't really control a cat, so u could try 2 close your door when u r sleeping or listen 2 music 2 droun out the sound of your cat.

Your cat hay have been fixed late and that means that her need for a mate cannot be stopped. That is the same with my cat. You should go to your veternairian and ask her/him about it.

. Maybe she is lonely..or in pain. Try taking her to bed with you .If the crying continues take she to the vet she could be in pain and just as it is with humans things hurt more at night.

It could just be loneliness. Try asking your veterinarian about it. It could also be a symptom that something is wrong with her.
