i am 17 and i still wet the bed. and let me tell you, if he is any thing like me he CANNOT feel it. i have been to 5 doctors and the only thig wrong is that my blader is a little bit small. it will grow on its own and there is nothing that can be done about it. i tryed meds, alarms and every other treetment my parents could find. nothing worked and the doctors said that pull-ups were the best till i can out grow it, they just help with the mess. i use the goodnites pants. you can look into those for your son.

No drinking water or any liquids after 7pm, be sure he uses the restroom before bed, If the entire house is dark at night around bed time you may want to put night lights in the bathroom and maybe his room and hall way, Some kids are afriad to get up @ night due to the dark, On the weekend if you are off you may want to get him use to getting up and going to the restroom every two-three hours please be Patient w/him and let him know that you will help him stop this, a alarm clock set every two to three hours reminding him to get up and use it. With support from you and any other adult and comfort he should STOP this behavoiur it may be a nervous condition, If all else fells and it should not seek a doctors advice, But I think he will be OK because I remember when I wet the bed at 12 and I hid the covers my big brother and I would wash the sheets for me so that Mom/Dad would not know, I was so embarrassed that he knew I did not do it anymore, And beleive it or not but one time as an Adult I had a dream that i was setting on the toilet and peeing. LOL come to find out I was laying in my bed (real Life) AND ALL WET, Man I am glad I was single at the time. LOL I had had To much to eat/drink and worked so hard that week/day, So I got LAZY. Hang in there and take care. It will get better, The Key be Patient and sets some ground rules like making him get up through out the night and you may want to make him wear some GoodNights Depends/Briefs he may not like this but let him know that until he can adjust to being a BIG BOY/YOUNG MAN by getting up through out the night and using th restroom like BIG PEOPLE DO then and only then will he not be treated like a BIG BABY. Something to that affect, But you use YOUR GOOD JUDGEMENT.

Its possible he may have a sort of sleep disorder so you might want to mention it at his next check up. Beyond that here is a helpful technique.
Buy a digital eggtimer device and set it for two hours. After it goes off he should get up and go to the bathroom. If he has already wet the bed set the timer for earlier the next night and have him do same thing. Keep doing this untill you are able to catch it before you wets the bed. Its possible he may have to set it to go off a few times a night. Whatever he needs. Eventually though he may learn to recognize the feeling and wake up on his own.

I would not give him a lot to drink at night and i would have him pee before going to bed if he continues to pee the bed then tell him if he has no wet beds in the morning for a whole week then there will be a reward and if he does wet the bed then he will have a punishment.

Most of the previous suggestions are valid. Just remember that he probably can't help it and never punish him for it. My son was about the same age before he stopped wetting the bed. He had a well, the hole was too small in the end of his penis and he couldn't urinate it all out so when he relaxed sometimes he would go in bed. He had surgery on it. Yup-OWIE! And it helped. As a bed wetter myself as well as my husband we never EVER punished him because we knew what he was going through. Patience Mom!

When I was 7 I was peeing in the bed. My mom took me to the doctor and found out I had diabetes. I would take him to the doctor to make sure everythign is o.k first. If he is o.k make sure he doesn't drink before going to bed and he should use the bathroom before bed too. But, I would definitely try the doctor because peeing in the middle of the night shouldn't occur.

Does he snore real loud? If so, you might want him checked out by an ENT because his tonsils may be too large, and when he goes to sleep the tonsils rest against the back side of the throat and relaxes his body so he sleeps real deep. My daughter has the same problem and the ENT is suggesting getting her tonsils out.

Limit his fluid intake at night. get him up regularly during the night to go to the bathroom. If that doesn't work, talk to his doctor.

Limit fluid intake, and talk to his doctor. It can be a medical condition that is treated by medication.
This website is extremely helpful. Please read it! It explains better then anyone can on here.
