self esteem is how positive you feel about yourself. if u are happy with the way you engage in social settings, your confidence level is good, your are generally content with yourself, your self esteem is normal. if you have low self esteem, your generally are not content with the way you behave, how u see yourself, and generally not happy on how you think u present yourself to others, then u have low self esteem. u develop self esteem through life experiences, and self evaluation, sometimes self esteem can take a while in ones life. if you think about yourself, and find things u do not like, then u can work on these to increase your self esteem. u do have to set realistic goals for yourself and know what u can do and can"t do. you have to be content with your self and realize that everybody has limitations and you have to accept that. for example a brilliant doctor may be good in his field, but realizes and accepts the fact that he may not be able to fix a toilet.
