lmao, by the answers to this im going to assume christians have nothing else to base their faith on, no source of evidence or facts that lead them to believe the bible is true. thus stating they believe what they are told and dont ask questions. makes me wonder, if god wanted people who didnt have a mind of their own why did he give free will? sheep are stupid animals, they follow out of their inability to live on their own, they dont think for themself. why would u want to be one.

There are other secular, non-fiction books that support the Bible, but, to address your question directly, it's through application. I believe that for every action there is a reaction. I used to do a lot of things that the Bible says not to do and the reaction/consequence for that was, most often than not, even if it came later than sooner, negative. Once I started applying Bible principles I gained a better quality of life; I experienced more positive results for my actions and , along with that, peace of mind. Isn't that how we discover what the truth is? If someone gives you information and you test it and find it to be accurate, then isn't it true? When that happens a number of times the source of that information becomes reliable and trustworthy, so accepting any information that I either don't understand completely or know about entirely becomes easier. That's why I say I have faith based on knowledge. This combined with historical accuracy and prophetic fulfillment lead me to believe that the Bible is divine.

I have quite a few other sources that I use that interpret the Bible the way I believe is most relevant. Calvin's Institutes of the Christian Religion along with several Reformed Church doctrinal statements make up most of my "evidence". However, I like to know about other religions and philosophy, so I keep Catholic, Mormon, and philosophical writings handy.

I derive my faith from God's blessed assurance.

Faith comes from hearing and hearing a Word about Christ / God.

Faith is a gift of God. It is Gods spirit that assures us in our spirit that we are His Child.

It comes from within ourselves, and we have an understanding of right and wrong, if we haven't lost our sense. Even if your read the Bible, you have to be able to recognize it according to your own knowing.
