Wranglers usually dont have great engines... I wouldnt get it unless it was really cheap and you have the extra money to maintain it if it breaks down.. I used to have one.... the 4cyl isnt powerful and doesnt get the best gas mileage.. BUT THEY ARE FUN!!!!!... (dont get the air intake.. it wont make a difference... no aftermarket parts will make it run better either).. just give it a good tune up.. they are dependable... and hope for the best. if all else fails.. put a new different engine in it.. EVERYBODY DOES IT... look in Jeep Magazines or Off Road Shops around your area...

Every jeep is the reflection of his owner. Engine size and maintenance will define if it's still good after 100k. But a single look to the interior can tell you half the story, the looks of the carpeting, seats, dashboard, etc. tells you how it's treated. If these look bad, what would you think of the engine, even worst what of the tranny or of the transfercase?

When I got rid of my 97 TJ 4cyl. last year it had 175,000 on it and it ran great. Never had any trouble with the engine or drive-line other than replacing the front drive axle joints around 125,000.

Carlos...just because the interior is dirty or worn doesn't mean the owner didn't properly maintain the engine and drive-line.
