Okay. Yes of course I have drank before.. but just bud light, tequila, or vodka.. nothing worthwhile!!

I bet I would like both sweet and bitter drinks.

If you've never had alcohol or hard liquor, stick to the sweet liqueurs - although there is this idea that all cocktails come with umbrellas and fancy decor, the best and most sophisticated ones don't come dressed like a rainforest. I'd say to start with sours, like Amaretto Sour (if the drink doesn't have a nice amber color like Goldschlagger's then they skimped on the Amaretto and the drink is going to be bitter - hand the drink back and tell him to stop being a cheap bastard and put the Amaretto in). Midori sours are yummy too. It's a lime-green drink, sweet, and accented with the melon liqueur.

Also, be careful with many of the suggestions given to you on this page, especially the ones from guys. They are too bitter for a first timers. Also, the potency of the liquor in some of their suggestions can knock a first timer out cold and you'll be the first one to miss your own birthday celebration!

Another liqueur that is really yummy for first timers is Kahlua, which has a light chocolate creme flavor.

A great starter drink is a Harvey Wallbanger. This is basically a screwdriver (vodka and OJ) with a float of Galiano. Not lethal for a starting out drinker, sweet and you won't get immediately hammered. Suggest you visit the "good cocktails" web site for details of several drinks along with photos. See what YOU might like.

If you like sweet go for a Cosmo, Midori melonball, Classic MiTai for sour try a greyhound, Pisco Sour or lemondrop. Remember not to mix and match (if you start with vodka stay with it the more you mix the sicker you get) and try to drink 8oz of water for every cocktail to minimize the hangover. Also just in case have some Alka Seltzer on hand in the morning to sooth your head and tummy. Have Fun!

Random drinking tips...

whatever you do remember, mixing alcohols will make you sick. If you're having beer too...remember this rhyme: liquor before beer, you're in the clear, beer before liquor you're gonna be sicker.

Make sure you eat something light too before drinking.
More tips... "Jeiger bombs" are strong as well as the shot ''liquid cocaine'' if you do either of those, I wouldn't do more than a couple.

After drinking, have alot of water and a couple advil before bed.... greasy foods the next day, like pizza help hangovers a bit

get a flaming doctor pepper!
the bartender gives you a shot of amaretto topped off with some everclear. then he lights it on fire and you drop it in a glass of beer and drink it FAST. it'll taste like the best doctor pepper you've ever had. after that try a jagerbomber and maybe a shot of patron. just make sure you don't drink so much that you forget your big night!

ADIOS MOTHER FUC*KER (also known as an AMF)

Seriously, it's great.

congrats.. I would suggest a Grey goose cranberry martini. Or a couple of shots of Parton Silver (tequila ) and a couple of beers.

both are good and wont give you a hang over.
remember the clearer the liquor the better chance you won't get a hangover.

I like Kahlua and Creme

Another good drink is a Tea Sangria.

Have fun and let someone else do the driving that night!
