or are they guilty of not finding out about Jesus and accepting him?

I found their beliefs, respecting nature, using only what they need, and living in harmony to be quite beautiful.

How could anyone living today know the answer to this question? It can only be speculation and guessing. People will give their various OPINIONS, based on their different backgrounds and knowledge level.

Here is my OPINION for all that it is worth ... I do not think anyone will go to Heaven (as of around 33 A.D. and afterwards) that has not obeyed the Gospel according to what is taught in the Bible. If this is the case, the Indians can blame their ancestors for not passing along the truth to them. Collossians 1:5-6 teaches us that at that point in time "all the world" had heard the Gospel and had the opportunity to obey. Through the generations, many people may never have heard the Gospel OR as far as "we know" perhaps everyone has heard. Perhaps even the Indians had Christians among them that history has not recorded OR maybe an angel was sent to them (again more speculations and guessing). I supposed we will all find out some day.

We need to be concerned about what we need to do, based on what we know. If we don't know then we need to be investigating/searching.

There were many cultures that lived before the time of Jesus and after the time of Jesus, that did'nt know Jesus. We're talking about millions of people. So, is ignorance an excuse? Yes!
First of all, you have a group of people that have a particular practice for thousands of years. Then one day, a stranger shows up and tells them that they're wrong and to do things another way. The stranger shows no proof, except that he has a book with a totally alien language. The people can't read, much less this strange language. The people are also dumbfounded that this brash stranger should come to them and accuse them of living wrong. Then to top it off, the stranger comes with weapons and begins to attack the people because the people won't do as he says. Do you think the people will still accept this stranger and his strange ways with open arms? Who's correct here....the stranger, or those people?
If there is a "burning hell," which I don't think there is, I doubt these people are being punished in this way. The Bible speaks of a resurrection one day in the future. Most likely, these people, along with many others that "did'nt know" will come back and, under perfect conditions, will learn properly the ways of Christ...providing all of it is true.

Christianity is about life and not hell, we are living in hell right now enduring to the last of our days in the belief of our Lord Jesus Christ as savior of all humans.

It is what is in a man's heart that matters, you can bet that there were bad eggs in the native cultures as there still are today in our society, no one knows what is in a man's heart except for our father in heaven. Peace be with you.

Since the idea of hellfire has no scriptutal basis and is not a true Biblical teaching but instead a false doctrine, my answer would have to be no.

1 John 4:8 states plainly that "God is love." A loving God would not: one, punish people eternally in hellfire and two, unjustly punish those who were never given the chance to learn about Him and His perfect ways.

The Bible says that the "dead are conscious of nothing." I believe that death is like a really deep sleep, and that in the future, during God's appointed time, He will resurrect both the "righteous and the unrighteous," as Paul brought out. This tells me that ones who were never taught about God and Christ will be resurrected and given a chance to learn.

Otherwise, God would not be the loving, merciful, just and perfect personage we know Him to be.

You cannot be judged by something you do not know about.
Even Muslims who really were not taught about Jesus will not be held responsible for not really knowing him.
John 5:28 says there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. During Christ's minillium rein of 1000 years.
They will be judged by what they accept during that time.
When Jesus was on the stake next to the evil doer he said, 'You will be with me in paradise."

I don't believe they went to hell because they never had the opportunity to accept Jesus just like a baby or children. I live in Amish country and the Amish live a lot like the Indians but they do worship Jesus.

Yes I have always loved the Native American ways and they cannot be held responsible for what they know nothing of.
And if you looked closer at their customs you will find they believed in the great spirit.

And god does not judge people.
And Hell is on earth Hell as it is put is not fire and brimstone Hell is what you experience on this world either you put people through torment or they you.

According to the Word of God no man comes to the Father but through Jesus Christ, therefore unless God provided some way for Christ to be revealed to early indigenous tribes then according to Gods own law they are lost.
Of course it is rather presumtuous and nieve to assume that God is so finite that He required Europeans for Christs Spirit to reach the North American Indian.
I cannot speculate how else they may have had the chance to accept His Love but I will not presume that God in His Omnipotence could not have revealed Himself to them without Mans help.

Native Americans didn't become warriors by running around picking
daises! They fought wars over "territory", (hunting grounds), and blood
vengeance like everyone else!
All Native peoples around the world have their shamans which taught people of the spirit world.
Mastery involves detachment from things. People who want to PLAY with
the spirits get enslaved by them! But that doesn't mean we shouldn't
experience our spirituality. Just use your NUT!
Job 12.
"Ask the Earth and it will teach you,
And the birds of the air, and they will teach you,
And the fishes of the sea will declare it unto you!"

(Luk 10:33) But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
(Luk 10:34) And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
(Luk 10:35) And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
(Luk 10:36) Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbor unto him that fell among the thieves?
(Luk 10:37) And he said, He that showed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
