Depends which ex your talking about, but honestly, in all instances, it was difficult and a relief. It's always a relief to finally fire the person who was the source of your stress.

Depending on the situation, yeah, it can be a relief if its a really bad situation, but no matter what. Break ups are hard and take a long time to deal with and cope with, but if that person is not really right for you, why keep persuing the relationship? It is time to end it and move on.

I was in a very difficult relationship for about 3 years. For the 1st 6 months everything was nice, then he started to treat me worse and worse. He was very controlling, possesive, and very jealous! finally i snapped and broke up with him. I felt the largest amount of weight just lift up off my shoulders, although because he was my first love it was very difficult and i had been controlled by him for so long that i was scared to be without him and i didn't even know myself anymore. I had a hard couple of months after but i don't regret it at all and to this day i haven't been happier without him.

We were in a long-distance relationship. He made the mistake by introducing me to one of his friends who turned out to be the love of my life. So i fianlly broke up with him (now i think he was cheating on me anyways) after one year of being in a relationship.
Yes, it was difficult because i was sick, laying in bed. He came and saw me (he lived with me while he was visitng) and i told him this isn't working out. Kind of mean but now i'm engaged to be married!!

It wasn't really an ex, because we had a very short thing, but I didn't feel relieved, I tought I'd see him again anyway but he didn't make any effort to remain friends
