Destiny is what you are going to end up doing or being for the rest of your life, or wht is already planned out for u to do, while a soulmate is someONE that you are going to end up with that you are meant to be with...so destiny is the big picture, while soulmate is a part of destiny..hope that helps

On the subject of soulmates, yes I believe in them, but not the way most people do. A soulmate isn't necessarily your perfect lover. I believe that a soulmate is the one person (that isn't family of course) you can always count on to be a constant in your life, whether it be a lover or a very close friend. Yes, I believe that everything happens for a reason, and I do believe in twists of fate. How else would God entertain himself if he didn't throw us a curve ball every once in a while. As for destiny, I believe that it only works to a certain point. It can present you with oppertunities to make your life better, but whether you choose to take them or not is up to you. If you don't work for something, it's never going to happen, so destiny is pretty much what you make it.

Soul mate implies that two people are made for each other. That they will always love each other, etc.
Destiny is not necessarily a positive thing. It implies that you are locked into a fate and can do little or nothing to change it. For example, you could be destined to marry an abusive SOB. Or, destined to meet you soul mate.
