Depends on how much water you use. But you are also supposed to turn it down to simmer or low AFTER it starts boiling after you add the rice. Also don't stir it while it simmers. And keep it covered.

Harder because the heat will continue to draw the water out of the rice. That happens even in a rice cooker using the Keep Warm setting.

depends on the type of rice and how much water. if you are not using a rice cooker, the best rule is 2 parts water to 1 part rice. cook over a high heat until boiling then reduce heat and cover. let it simmer for about 20 to 30 minutes depending on the type of rice. white rice cooks alot faster than brown or wild rice.

Harder, because with constant heat, you're cooking off the water in the rice. It'll dry out. I mean if you left it LONG enough, it would cook down so much that it'd technically be softer... but that would take awhile.

Not sure but they way we make rice at the school i work at it comes out perfect every time. put rice and water (2 parts water to 1 part rice) in oven safe pan with cover. We add a little chicken base ( or you can use bullion that has been broken up) and butter. cover tightly place in 375 degree oven for 25 mins. Stir rice check for doneness depending on your oven. if not ready return to oven and bake for 10 more mins. Take rice out of oven when done and let rest for 5 mins covered.

Depends on how much water you have......But a rice cooker makes it perfect every time and is so easy. Just add rice and water then leave.........turns itself off when done. (If you want softer rice add a little more water)

Depends on the water-if not enough-hard, too much soft. If you have the right amt. of water, and heat it low for too long it becomes mushy.

it will become harder... because the water will boil out and there will be no moisture left so it will dry out
