Yes, you do have a right to be angry with your mum. Who does she think she is? She was bang out of order reading your messages. It doesn't matter who's paying for the phone or what age you are; no-one has the right to invade your privacy like that. I'd be absolutely livid if my mum did it. If you haven't already told her how you feel, do so and let her know that if she carries on like this, you'll never be able to trust her again.

Yes you do have the right to be pissed off, because she shouldn't have been reading your texts. However if she says anything to you about the messenger from your boyfriend or any of the messengers just remain calm ask her why she read them and tell her that invaded you privacy. However she is still your mum so don't get angry and have a fight about it.

Yes is a real pain, don't blame you for feeling embarassed and angry. But she was probably just worried about you (my mum went through a period of snooping, then she found out i had no juicy secrets and got bored). Has she spoken about it to you? Tell her you don't want her ever to do that again, and i know it's difficult but try not to blow up too much at her. We all **** up after all, i know i've been tempted to be nosy too. so yes you do have a right to be pissed off, but try to rise above it!

Hell yeah! Your phone is your phone. I was pissed when my mum answered my phone and pretended to be me. Was sposed to be meeting my friend to go somewhere and she told him to meet me somewhere else at some completely different time. It's a good thing I came into the room in time.
Concerned parents should asked - it's the basis of trust.

You have every right to be annoyed with your mum i would be to. As it's your phone and she shouldn't be going into your personal possesion which she has no right to look at even though you are her daughter. I think you need to speak to your mum or put a lock on your phone, but first find out why she did it.

Upset-YES! But, you are still living under her roof and she is just looking out for your best interest! You think because you are older that you are wiser but, mom's instinct is to protect you no matter your age. Talk to her about you privacy without yelling and show her you can be a mature adult.
Good luck

Somewhat - it depends... does she pay your phone bill? If she does, then she's got more right to it than I'm sure you'd like to admit. If you pay your own bills that's definitely a breach of privacy and I'd be upset too.

Well...yes and no. You are still living at home...and if you are still living at home, she probably pays the cell phone bill...
but it is kind of wrong for her to invade your privacy, but thats what parents do when their kids dont talk to them about whats going on in their lives. Talk to her more and she wont feel the need to snoop. Or move out and grow up.

she had no right looking through your messages...what was she looking for?....next time you leave your phone at home...make sure the pin number is activated....so no one can snoop...she's wrong for poking into your private stuff...tell her she's out of order...and make sure you don't forget your phone next time....also if you have a diary...hide it well....unless she's already been there too...tell her that she's violating your privacy and you are not happy about it....some mums just can keep their beaks out eh?
cg...piss of with your advertising...it's becoming very boring now...who cares...

I suppose it depends how old you are. Your mum might just be looking out for you and does nt want you to get hurt and if this is the case i would nt blame her as their are a lot of parents out there that dont give a damn. She may just be concerned
