Perfect Baked Potatoes Owllady Style. Scrub uniformly sized potatoes. Poke a few holes in them with long fork. Rub with olive oil and bake in oven right on wrack for a half hour or more depending on size of spuds. These have a crispy skin and are delicious.

I only use foil when I cook them on the BBQ or over a campfire, you can toss them in the oven on a greased cookie sheet, and cook them as you would with the foil (might take an extra minuite though). I like to throw them in the microwave until almost done, then in the oven at 450-500 degrees until the skins are crisp, it's way faster and you can't tell the difference (at least I can't).Don't forget to peirce them first though.

If you are cooking them in an oven you dont need foil, but how about trying them in a microwave.
Microwave for 5 mins after piercing, then crisp them up in the oven for 10 mins if you want.

You can cook them in the microwave on high for about 10 minutes - be sure to poke a lot of holes in them first or they may explode!
Or, you can cut them up into 1 inch cubes, boil them in salted water until they are soft (again about 10 minutes until a fork goes into the piece easily), drain and mash with butter and a little bit of milk for tasty home-made mashed potatoes.
Both methods are much faster than standard baked potatoes.

Foil is not required for the yummiest baked potatos..
First pierce each potato with a skewer/ sharp knife.
Pour a generous amount of olive oil over each one and rub in ( with bare hands) and then cover in salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Bake for 1 - 11/2 hours according to size.
Check by re-piercing with knife to check for fluffiness...
Enjoy!
(another tip, bake several in one batch, and freeze. Just defrost overnight and warm through in oven again. Have worked in nice restaurants where they do this! )

ZIPLOCK them!!! Punch holes in 3or 4 potatoes, put them in a ziplock and microwave until ready! Most microwaves have a button for baked potatoe on it...works at my house...usually 5 or 6 minutes...

Just poke them with a fork and put into a microwave or oven. No need to wrap them. Sometimes I put some wather in with them so they don't dry out.
