If you feel her friendship is important to you and you do not want to lose it then maybe you should talk to her and let her know that he asked you out and you would like to go but you wanted to see how she felt about it first. Even if she does not want you to the decision is ultimately yours but at least you had the courtesy to let her express her feelings and let her know that you were not trying to stab her in the back.

It sounds like the 'title of lease' can now be handed over to the new owner doesn't it? lol!

If your friend and this boy are truly over and it is 'mutual' like as in your friend is not hiding in some corner somewhere gutted over the fact her boyfriend has just dumped her. If you can intuit that she is well and truly 'over him' then I would approach her to let her know he has asked you out and that out of respect for her feelings would like to know if she has any problem with this.

Whether she does or doesn't is beside the point. The point is you are standing in your truth and validating her feelings within it.

If she does you can consciously move yourself along with your new boyfriend. If she does not you can consciously still move yourself along with your new boyfriend as she does not 'own' him for the rest of 'his' life. If she has problems they are 'her problems' to deal with not yours. You will have done the right moral and ethical thing keeping your own integrity intact.

Go Girl!

Blessings be yours in peace and light

dont do it. it will ruin your friendship and it is not worth it believe me i made that mistake. my friend and i were best friends all through highschool and i dated this guy she went out with for like 2 months. me and the guy got engaged and 4 years later he went back to her and they are now getting married and it took us 5 years to be somewhat civil friends. no guy is worth a friendship.

Go out with him they obviously broke up so she shouldn't feel mad. She doesn't have the right to feel mad.

Go out with him...there is no rule that says you can't date an ex that belonged to a "kinda friend"...

DON'T GET INVOLVED NUMBER ONE YOU DON'T WANT A DUDE THAT JUST JUMPED OUT OF A RELSTIONSHIP AND TWO IF YOU AND OLD GIRL ARE EVEN KINDA COOL, IT'S GONNA CAUSE PROBLEMS BECAUSE SHE MAY BE HURT ABOUT THE BREAK UP AND YOUR ADDING INSULT TO ENTRY BY TRYING TO GET WITH HIM OR LETTING HIM TRY AND GET WITH YOU. IT'S GONNA GET UGLY STAY AWAY

You weren't the reason he broke up with her , so that's fine , but you can tell your Friend about it , so she shouldn't get upset, but i think don't start relationship with him , just keep it friendly and don't rely on him much.
