Ok so we have a lot of history together (2years worth) I love him but I have never told him that because we have never been a serious BF/GF couple. It started out as just sex, then we became really good friends then feelings developed (i think on both ends). There have been 2 periods of time (about 6mo each) where we were unable to see eachother. The timing was always wrong with us. When I wanted a relationship he wasn't ready wich is fine i was willing to wait. Now he is ready and so am I. The problem is that he is getting out in May and when he does he says he wants to move back home to Ohio. Thats where he is from. I can't handle him disappearing out of my life for a third time! I don't know if I would/could move with him. I am very close with my family and have a great job here. I know that sounds selfish when he has been away from his family for the last 6 years.I don't know what to do or what to say to him. I would never make him choose between me and his family. PLEASE HELP!

We were off and no for 2 years. No fights no blow outs we just couldn't see eachother at times due to his work and we decided mutually that when we were separated like that we would be allowed to keep our options open. we never maintained a long distance relationship. But we also never found anything better than eachother.

You obviously understand why he wants to move to Ohio. He is not being selfish after 6 years of being without them. I am not saying you are being selfish either because it is understanding that you want to be near your family as well. You certainly have a dilema. You need to do some soul searching here. Are you wiling to sacrafice being away from your family in order to be with him? Are you sure he is ready for a commitment and have you actually asked him that? Is he willing to go to Ohio for awhile and then move back near your family in the future? Are you sure it is actually love and could you live without him? Only you can answer those questions and think really hard about your answers and that will make your decision for you.....good luck!

He sounds like a great guy. I believe if you truely loved him you would move with him. Living the life of an Air Force wife isn't easy. But, it is honorable. My son was in the Air Force and I met the most amazing young men and women there. Someone has to do the job. If this guy has chosen this then you know eactually what life will be with him. And if you two love each other enough to hang through thick and thin then go for it.

To me you are so unsure that I can't imagine you hanging in there and being up for the challenge. Too many guys in the services have wives who can't deal with the moves and absenses. It takes two committed people to make it work. I don't see that in you.

Be his friend for now. When he is home and out of the Air Force maybe you two will get together, but it would be unfair to both of you to ask each other to wait for each other. And May isn't that far away. YOu can't force him to move somewhere and he can't force you. Eventually you would both end up bitter and angry and resentful.

Unless you both want the same place to live one of you will be constantly upset. Love knows how to compermise. when, why and how much. It seems you are definate about what you want.

if you guys love each other you will find a way to stay in a long distance relationship, unless you move in with each other somewhere in a mid point of where you two live now.

If you love him and he loves you and wants you to move with him, then go for it girl. Follow your heart. Your family can come visit and so can you and you could get another job.

Maybe you should have a talk with him. You could express your feelings for him and tell him the same things that you've told us. You can work it out together.

If you are such great friends, you should be able to speak openly to him about your feelings, etc.
