I live with sister and well I have a HORRIBLE part time job I work about 17 to 16 hours a week. She has no job right now. I make about enough to pay rent which is $350. I am working a bit more hours. But the problem is if we lose our apt I will have no place to go. Parents said I could not move back in with them. What do I do? Note: I am looking for a better job and sis is looking for one.

Hey. Hang in there. I definitely know what it is like having money issues. My husband lost his job in June. He was a minister. It paid pretty good and now he is working a job that is paying very little and we have 2 kids to support.

I'm sure something good will come up for you both. Sometimes life throws a curve ball at you and it's hard to take. I've been there.

Look in classifieds and at some of the job search websites online. They have at least helped my husband in getting interviews. Maybe they can help you.

Your sister should get a job ASAP and pull her own weight with the expenses. She should go to a temp agency, or start hitting up all the retail stores for part-time sales clerk jobs (it's Christmas season and there are a lot of jobs.) Clothing stores, dept stores, shoe stores, bookstores, etc.

You can try to get another P/T job. You should be able to get another 20 hours of work somewhere.

There are lots of things to look at - cleaning houses, waitress / hostess, receptionist, take in laundry & folding, etc. Go to your city or county department of labor and check out the job listings. Check smaller retail stores for P/T help. Look in Craigslist.com for part-time jobs in your city.

Keep looking everywhere for employment. It won't 'fall into your lap' - you have to go out and look for it. But work is there - you have to be active looking for it.

Keep a positive attitude, show enthusiasm and 'hustle' - that's what employers want to hire. If you can do that, then both of you *will* find work.

Good luck to both of you.

PS: As a last resort, if your parents don't want you back, can you take a loan from them for 1 month of expenses?

Is there anyway you can help your sister get a job where you work at? Right now most of the places that are hiring are for seasonal and part-time. She can also try a temp agency for work, they usually deal more with office jobs and most companies use that as a way of hiring new employees.

Just keep looking and don't give up . There is nothing you can do this minute except say some prayers. Something good will happen I will pray for you also . Perhaps someone will give you a loan if worse comes to worse .

Keep looking, one will turn up. Hope you and your sister will find something. With the onset of winter arriving it will be very cold on the street. Good Luck.
