No it won't, as long as you don't over straighten.
Only use the straightener in quick sweeping motions, rather than holding it on your hair and ripping it downward. You can use the light sweeping motions until you achieve the desired result.
Also, make sure you set it to about 3/4 the hottest temperature it has. So, on mine it has a max of 200 degrees celcius, so I'll set it to around 150-170, depending on how curly my hair is.
Also, don't use the straightener any more than once a day, and you'll lessen the damage it does.
I use a straightener every day and my hairdresser is always astounded by the good condition of my hair, so I know what I'm talking about

wow ! your just like me , i love my curly hair , i only just realized that I'm so gifted with it when i stopped straightening . half my hair was cut off due to split ends and dryness .wen it grew all back i added honey blond and golden high lights . i now leave it natural , use Nicky Clarke wave and curl shampoo and conditioner and if your really into product hair using then use there moose as well . straight hair is sooo common , i love being different and so would you Hun , ow yeah and let me remind you ,,, the guys go crazy for it looks sooo sexy , I'm not saying don't straighten it Hun ... but if you do then use a heat proof spray :>and a Lil serum

no it won't, it can make your hair dry and give you dead ends, this can make hair unnatractive and impossible to work with. if you use a good flat iron protection spray (i recommend lee stafford, protection mist, around 12-15 quid) if you look after your hair while you str8en it shud be fine :) much lv!
