We Humanists also realize the importance of visiting the infirm, the elderly, and the home-bound. There's not so great an emphasis on visiting those in prison, though perhaps there should be. We're all human beings, after all--even those who deserve to be in jail, which certainly aren't all that find themselves incarcerated--and it's important for people to know that they're not alone, that someone cares.
Come on, Pie's Guy. Midge's question was addressed to Christians, but she didn't say Christians were the only ones who care about other people. Don't read hostility or bigotry into an innocuous post. Others have said that, and they deserve your criticism, but I don't see it here.

This is realizing the Body of Christ. When one in the body suffers, we suffer with. We are to pray for one another.
Right now, I have been spiritually led to pray for the persecuted church. Because some are being tortured. So my prayer is for God to protect them with a spiritual shield from all torture. That the torturers know they are hurting innocent and God won't let them continue. That Christians be freed from the prisons, because the false accusations be found out. That Christian lands owned in their family for years don't get taken from them because of false accusations. That is happening right now in Palestine (West bank, Gaza). They say that Christianity may be extinct there within 60 years. Especially since Hammas got voted in. Those Christians retired are denied their pensions since then. Any way I just read that in my paper.
Angels means messengers, and Christians can be God's messengers as well as an Angel from heaven.

Or... you could be like 'humans' visiting a sick or infirm elderly person or someone in prison or a homebound lonely person.
One or the other. Both clearly make sense! :P

I am not a "Christian" I believe in a higher power and the good of the universe. I know doing good, makes me feel better.
The Body of Good is within all of us. Then, that other person is also like the angels who administired to Jesus in the garden.

This isn't really an answer....maybe more of a question. What part of the body of christ am I? Can I pickand choose? Can I pick a part that is fun? Does my part have to bleed? If I choose hair and I loose some when I comb, is it still christ? I don't even want to go to my bathroom habits. If I want to smite my neighbor for not following the old testament laws, do I still have to call out ALL my neighbors, or just the ones who like to watch?

It is also like the end of times when the goats and sheep are separated. Jesus told the sheep when he was hungry they fed him, clothed him when he was naked, and gave him drink when he was thirsty, I was alone and you invited me into your house, I was sick and in prison and you visited me. And the King said anything you do for even the least of my people here you also did for me. Jesus told the goats he knew them not.

Yes when Jesus walked on Earth in a earthly body, His ministry was not in the church's but amongst the sinners, the hungry, and sick, the poor, the criminals, and he was hung on that cross as a common criminal but he committed no crime. It was for our sins he died

And remember that Jesus said, "When you have done it to the least of my brothers and sisters, you have done it to Me." That is why we, as Christians, must do for the less fortunate and the sick because Jesus has given us special blessings for it and if you are like me, you need all the blessing you can get.

you are full of yourself sweetheart. Atheists, hindus, buddhists etc. visit, work with and comfort the sick and infirm as well as the elderly. You don't have to be "christian" to be loving! Your silly question and silly remarks are thus NULL and VOID!
(is PRIDE not one of the 7 deadly sins?...think about that midge "because your religious sh*t don't stink" ...huh?
