I am looking for a new TV for my Parents for Christmas and Im not really sure what the difference in all the new styles is. I would like a TV that comes in Clear with live TV such as football games. and a TV that looks Clear with DVD's...does anyone have any Suggestions? And what is the difference between Plasma and LCD?

Well your husband is wrong. LCD's are immune to burn-in. Plasmas usaully burn out over time, but they are making them better now. If your parents watch alot of television, I suggest buying an LCD. If they're not going to abuse the TV, then get them a plasma.

I agree the plasma tv's are the one that had the burn in problem. They say the technology is better on them now. I would consider buying an lcd they are supposed to last a little longer than the plasma. also check out consumer reports.

LCD is Liquid Crystal and Plasma is gas based. Plasma needs to be recharged every year and half to two years depending on usage. Plasma is your best bet for DVD's and life TV because of better quality and richer colors. With LCD if a picture stays on for to long the picture will be burned onto the screen.
