We keep finding two of my kittens licking each others b**s, one does it to the other one and then they seem to change around. We have tried to stop them doing it, but we would like to know why. We have looked in various books we have but can find nothing.

It's a natural thing for cats. They're just cleaning each other, staying hygenic. When kittens are extremely young and haven't figured out the whole hygene thing for themselves, their mother will clean them, including their genital areas, to be rid of any fesces or urine that might have stuck to their fur. It's good that your kitties like to keep clean and I wouldn't try to stop them; bad hygene for a cat can cause some serious problems! My cats clean each other all the time; it's not a sexual thing, it's a cleaniness thing.

You are obviously feeding them with great tasting food.

PS Does anyone ever get the feeling that some saddo goes through these answers after inputting their own answer and gives everyone else a bad rating to make theirs look better? Perhaps they would be better off licking their own bottom.

This is the way the mother cat cleaned them. They do the same. Don't be concern, there will be a time they won't let the other touch them there, if you get them spayed or neutered. I do recommend spaying an neutering for healthier and happier pets.
