Of course you can use a straightener.I use a solia flat iron and its the best straightener I've ever used since it has real ceramic.Conair also has a good satin coated 3/4 inch one.Whatever one you pick get a good heat protectant spray so you won't damage your hair.
And no,it shouldn't hurt if done properly.
Check out folia.com and http://www.conair.com/product_info.php?products_id=60

Absolutely! Corioliss flat iron is the best ceramic straightener that I have purchased. It is a bit more expensive than the other brands, but well worth the money. Most malls have the kiosk that sells them.

I'm pretty sure you can, I have a friend who does, and I believe she uses a simple ceramic staightener.....I suggest any by conair or revlon....they seem to work the best for me....and you can adjust the heat. And as long as you arent holding the straightener too tight, it shouldnt hurt.

yeah you can, a lot of people use the Chi but my beautician told me to use the Solia. You can go to Solia.com it's the one with the blue plates, it's like $85. And you can also use a pressing comb (otherwise known as a hot comb)

Hello. I was just wondering; look at my hair.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061115190016AAaGl11&r=w
What do you think I could do with my hair?
As for your hair... Hmm..
Can I ask why do you not like getting it relaxed?
And yes, get a cheap Flat Iron and it will hurt and pull out your hair*.. get a better one and it will glide on your hair leaving it smooth and sliky. ^-^
* It dosen't hurt unless your hair is tangled.

I like Maxiglide, it costs around $80, but really works. You can use it on wet or dry hair.
