James 2:10 (New International Version)
New International Version (NIV)
10For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.
This indicates that God does not see sin in degrees of bad or horrible. To him a lie is destructive to truth and harmony amongst people. IN His eyes, killing some one is just as evil as lieing. or Molesting a child.
It is only humans who think evil can be graded from one to ten.
To God, sin IS sin.
Sin is rebellion against that which is good. And under enough stress the person who is willing to steal for their own personal gain would resort to killing if they felt the need would arise. It is a state of mind not a state of action.

Basically, all sin is the same. But sin comes in different forms and is more or less offensive to us depending. BTW, some skin heads think what Hitler did was great. Some think that stealing a pack of gum deserves having an arm chopped off.

God teaches Christians that the wages of sin in death. He teaches us that He is a Holy being and that no unclean things can enter His presence.. I look at it like the bridge is out on our path to God. As death comes we approach the edge the cliff. It's only 100 yards to the goal. Now does it matter that the best of us can jump out toward that goal 50 feet, even 100 feet, is the result any different for the ones who are only able to jump out inches? Nope, no man can make it. So a teacher like Billy Gramm who spiritual feats allow that huge leap make no more difference than Hitler who has to be pushed into the abbes. No one come to the father unless Christ's blood has cleanses them.. I have no right to tell anyone if they have had God preform that miracle for them or not. Weather you believe that it's fair or not that's how God has created the Universe to work... Jim

Yes. A sin is a sin, and the thing about it being just or not, is that they all get the same punishment, if you dont repent for them.
Oh, and the child thing is just a way to make a point. God doesnt hold children accountable, only adults who know the diffrence between right and wrong. Using a child in your analogy just begs for sympathy.

It's not the sin that matters: it's the attitude of the sinner. When Jesus had his feet washed with the tears of a strange woman he knew perfectly well that she was a popular prostitute. But he also knew that she was truly repentant by her sincere actions. It is believed that she ended up being Mary Magdalene, who had the great privilege of seeing Jesus when he was resurrected.
The ultimate sin is when you sin against the Holy Spirit, like Judas Iscariot did. He saw the Holy Spirit in action when Jesus performed miracles and healings, yet he still betrayed Jesus.
There are many people who have done bad things in their lives who have earnestly repented and turned around. After all, we are all God's creation and He desires all of us to attain to repentance.

No. There is one certain sin that is unforgivable in God's eyes. Blasphemy that turns one of God's children away from Him. If you can convince a saved Christian to turn their back on God, then that is an unforgivable sin to God. All the other sins are sins. the punishment is definitely different, but the fact still remains that a sin is a sin!!!!

Sin is sin in the respect of "missing the mark of the high calling of Christ"
Every sin has it's consequence. You reap what you sow.
Fairness is everyone being separated forever from the presence of God Almighty.
Mercy is a compassionate God providing a Way out of man's dilema.
Grace is the forgiveness we experience when we call on the Name of the Lord and turn from our wicked ways.

Sin is sin. Anything you do against God is against God. You are either for God or against God. If one willingly and knowingly does something that is wrong it is sin. A child may not know that taking what they want is a sin. A child requires learning. They must be taufght right from wrong. Man looks at the outside, God looks at our intentions and our soul.

diamond_doll-your wrong, a child, lets say a 7 year old, is accountable for thier actions, maybe if they were younger, but at around 7 comes the age of accountability.
to answer your question, if they are sorry the sin will be forgiven. the child might be sorry while hitler isnt.
that probably doesnt answer your question though, in that case sorry.
