The density of regular liquid glucose (the sugar most commonly used in soft drinks) is approximately 0.8g/mL, and there are 5mL in a teaspoon or 15 mL in a tablespoon.

Therefore a teaspoon of sugar is 5(0.8)=4g of sugar, and
a tablespoon is 15(0.8)=12g of sugar.

This means that the 2g of sugar in one serving of your drink is equivalent to 1/2 teaspoon of sugar.

answer would be accurate if sugar had the same density as water.
