Yes, it will be hard to lose 2.2 pounds every week, especially since you don't have that much weight to lose. But the recommended amount of weight loss weekly is 1 - 2 pounds, so it is a good goal--just aggressive. You will daily calorie deficit of 1100 calories to lose 2.2 pounds per week. It would be best to combine diet and exercise to achieve this. For example, cut calories by 550 daily and exercise to burn off another 550 calories.

A great free website for diet and exercise is Spark People. http://www.sparkpeople.com They offer a free meal plan and exercise plan along with tons of articles and message boards for support.

Good luck with your goals!

That's a big goal. That means you have to eat 1100 cal less than usual PER DAY. Which is a hard thing to do. That being said, if youre 33 lbs overweight, you have a lot in your diet you can cut out. You need to start counting your calories (www.thedailyplate.com) and exercising regularly. Try running for as long as you can and then brisk walking for what adds up to 30 min. Eventually you'll be able to run the entire 30 min, and you should start adding 5 min to your run every week. Basically, you want to work your way up to at least an hour of cardio every day and you will hopefully burn 600 cal per day working out.

As for eating habits. Don't buy any processed food. Cook everything yourself and make sure at least 80% of your groceries consists of whole grains, fruits, veggies, and lean meats.

Good luck on your diet.

It will very tough but it you are dedicated you will do it. I went from 330 to 152 in a little over a year, and found exercize to be the thing that made a huge difference in losing weight in general, but losing it faster. If I didn't exercize 3-5 days a week- even something basic like walking, the loss slowed down to a snail's crawl of a pound a week. So keep a food diary and even if it's just walking around the block, do 30-40 minutes of SOMETHING
3-5 TIMES A WEEK, and you'll make it. Good luck.

It's not hard at all. I cut down to 1200 calories a day and worked out every night and lost 12 pounds in one month, or about 3 pounds a week. You just have to be dedicated. Good luck to ya! (What's the website, by the way?)

At your current weight it shouldn't be hard to lose that much weight by Match 1st. With a diet that reduces your calories by 10% and includes healthy and nutritious food combined with cardio and light weight training you will lose the weight in no time.

It's not tough if you're motivated. The most that the medical field recommends is no more than 3 lbs a wk (more than that isn't healthy). Also remember that you may fluctuate so I would take my weight about once a wk to not get discouraged. Good Luck!!!

If you are serious about exercise and dieting I would try to loose even more than 2.2. Although it will be tough this time of year.
