My fiances shaver is a good brand but it doesnt shave close enough. I would like to buy him a new one but he says that he used to buy them from special stores that cater for blacks. I don't know of any stores like that. Does anyone know of a black male who really likes his brand?

I'm a black man, and I completely agree with you. I have used the razors designed for black men, and they don't shave close enough. The razors designed for white men iritate my skin. What I have found that works best is electric razors. My favorite it Norelco. It takes maybe a week or two for your skin to get used to it, but after that, I can get a really close shave without the skin irritation.
Another route that a friend of mine has taken (another black man) was to use 'magic shave' which is pretty much a powder that you mix together to make a product that is kinda like 'nair' for a black man's face - be careful though, it stinks pretty bad, but works.

sorry I dont but if he isnt super stuck on having a shaver get him a straight edge. my ex was puerto rican and had really course facial hair. the straight edge (like the kind they have at a barber shop) always gave him a really close shave and left him smooth with no ingrown hairs

good luck

my husband is using LAB SERIES htey sell them at nordstrom they are a little expensive but believe me they are worth every penny he has very thick hair in his face and sometimes he gets realy bad ingrowns but the best way to battle ingrown is to exfoliate at leas once every two weeks, is easy just grab some sugar, and mix it with your face cleaner, on wet skin and you'll notice the diference!!!!
