windows xp will have to be best, (then Vista) not because i say so but because unfortunately, within the next year or so MS will stop supporting windows 2000 because it is now considered obselete or a dying operating system, just as windows 95,98 and Me (which MS no longer supports) even though these are great OS. If you like windows 2000 just be sure to keep a backup of the OS so that when you or if you now have xp, you can also download windows 2000 on the xp which will then give you a dual OS.
Good Luck

Windows XP is better because it is much more updated than 2000. It also has a lot of features that don't come with 2000.

Depends on what you are doing with the computer and what hardware the PC has.
If it's an older PC with 256megs of RAM or less, I would say Windows 2000. If it's a modern PC and for home use, then definitely Windows XP. It all depends on circumstances.
